What Ypsilanti Bathrooms Usually Need
Most of the homes we remodel here are in Ypsilanti Township, a mix of 1950s ranches, 1970s houses, and newer subdivisions. The City of Ypsilanti has many older homes and rentals near downtown and campus.
Census estimates put the median year built at 1976 in Ypsilanti Township and 1956 in the City of Ypsilanti, against 1978 for Washtenaw County. In the township, about 22% of homes went up in the 1970s, 16% in the 1950s, and 14% in the 2000s, and about 58% are owner-occupied. In the city, about 32% of homes were built before 1940.
In these homes we often find original tubs, small tiled showers, and dated vanities. In their place go walk-in showers, new tubs, and grout-free Pro Stone cultured marble walls. For planning numbers, see typical bathroom remodeling costs.
