Bathroom Remodeling Westland, MI
Westland bathroom remodeling, tub-to-shower conversions, and tub replacements by our own installers
About 6 in 10 Westland homes went up between 1950 and 1979, and many still have the original steel or cast iron tub, tile set over wire mesh, a fiberglass surround, or tile wainscoting. We turn those tubs into walk-in showers, replace tubs and walls, and remodel full bathrooms. Our own crew handles it, start to finish.

What Westland Bathrooms Usually Need
Westland is a city of mostly 1950s to 1970s houses and apartments. A bit more than half of its homes are detached houses, and many bathrooms still have their original tub, tile, and vanity.
Census estimates put the median year built for a Westland home at 1969, newer than the Wayne County figure of 1956. About 22% of homes went up in the 1950s, 20% in the 1960s, and 19% in the 1970s. About 58% are detached single-family houses and about 61% are owner-occupied.
In homes this age we often find steel and cast iron tubs with tile set over wire mesh, fiberglass or acrylic surrounds, tile wainscoting, and soft subfloors around the tub and toilet. In their place go walk-in showers, new tubs, and grout-free Pro Stone cultured marble walls. For planning numbers, see typical bathroom remodeling costs.

How long does a bathroom remodel take in Westland?
Tub-to-shower conversions and tub replacements with Pro Stone walls take 2-4 working days. Full remodels take 5-10 working days, depending on scope. A full gut that needs new floor joists and plumbing, like the one near Venoy and Palmer, takes longer, and we tell you the schedule up front. -
Can you fix a soft or rotten floor?
Yes. Near Cherry Hill and Henry Ruff, we replaced a rotten subfloor during the remodel, then put in a 60 by 32-inch Italian White Pro Stone shower with a window kit and a new floor. Near Venoy and Palmer, we put in new floor joists. -
Can you add an exhaust fan?
Yes. Near Cherry Hill and Henry Ruff, we wired in a new exhaust fan and switch as part of the remodel, and near Joy Road and Merriman, a Panasonic fan went in during a full remodel. -
Can you take a bathroom down to the studs?
Yes. Near Joy Road and Merriman, in a different home, the whole room came down to the studs. The new shower has Italian White Pro Stone walls up to the soffit with an arched back wall, next to a Shale maple vanity and wall cabinet under an 87-inch Pro Stone top with two bowls, plus a new floor. -
Can you replace a fiberglass tub surround?
Yes. Near Van Born and Middlebelt, the fiberglass surround and the soffit over the tub came out, and Hazelnut Pro Stone walls went in, along with a 48-inch Basalt maple vanity under a 50-inch Hazelnut top. -
Which parts of Westland do you serve?
All of Westland, in the 48185 and 48186 ZIP codes. We also work in nearby Livonia, Canton, Garden City, Wayne, and Redford. -
Are estimates free, and do you offer financing?
