Fiberglass Shower Out, Marble-Look Porcelain and Navy Vanities In

This upstairs master bath in Northville had a fiberglass shower and two plain white vanities. Now it has a marble-look porcelain shower behind gold-trimmed glass and two navy vanities with quartz tops. The corner tub stayed.

The Job

A Peach Bath Turned Navy, White, and Gold

This upstairs master bath in Northville had peach walls and white tile. A fiberglass shower stall sat behind framed, frosted doors. Two long white vanities sat on either side of a corner whirlpool tub.

We took out the fiberglass shower, its doors, and a soffit. Both vanities and their tops came out, along with the toilet. The corner tub stayed in its spot.

The old stall became a custom shower on a 48 x 37 Pro Stone base in Antique Swan. Large marble-look porcelain panels in Regis White line the walls. A recessed Pro Stone niche holds bottles.

A Kohler Levity Plus sliding door closes in the shower. It has clear glass and gold trim.

The tub got a new Pro Stone surround in Antique Swan, so it matches the shower base and niche.

Two Masterpiece vanities in Midnight, a deep navy, replaced the white ones. Each has a Calacatta Noble quartz top with an undermount sink. Savannah Mirage wood-look vinyl planks went down right over the old tile floor. A new Kohler Highline Arc toilet finishes the room.

The homeowner supplied most of the gold in the room. That includes the Kohler faucets and shower fixtures, plus the gold light bars, mirrors, and pulls. Our crew installed them along with our own products.

How long did this master bath remodel take?

Can you keep my tub and update around it?
Yes. The corner whirlpool tub stayed right where it was. We took off the old tile deck and built a new Pro Stone surround in Antique Swan, so the tub now matches the shower base and the niche.
Can new flooring go over old tile?
Sometimes, yes. Here Savannah Mirage wood-look vinyl planks went right over the existing tile, with no tear-out. That saved time and mess. We check your floor at the consultation to see if it can be covered the same way.
Are these shower walls Pro Stone or porcelain?
Both. The walls are large marble-look porcelain panels in Regis White, with far fewer grout lines than small tile. The base and the recessed niche are Pro Stone, our cultured marble, in Antique Swan.
Can I supply my own fixtures?
Yes. The homeowner supplied the gold Kohler faucets and shower fixtures, plus gold accents like the light bars and mirrors. We installed them with the Kohler door and toilet we supplied. Tell us early, and we will plan around them.
