A Master Bath With a Soaking Tub
The alcove tub became a 19-inch-deep soaking tub, and a wall came out of the shower to let in more light. The new shower has a custom pan, Carrera Pro Stone walls, and a semi-frameless door. The original cabinets went back in under a Carrera top with two sinks, with a new floor and toilet.

A New Bathroom in the Basement
There was no bathroom here, just open basement space. We framed the walls, hung drywall, lowered the ceiling, and vented a fan outside. Then came a 60-inch shower with a custom pan and Tender Gray Pro Stone walls, sliding glass doors, a grab bar, a 30-inch Merillat vanity with a matching top, a toilet, and vinyl tile flooring.

An Upstairs Tub Becomes a Shower
The steel tub, the tile walls, and the tile on the shower ceiling came out. In went a custom 60-inch Pure Platinum pan, Boulder Pro Stone walls with two corner shelves, two grab bars, and a rain head with a hand shower. A matching 49-inch Boulder top went on the homeowner’s vanity cabinet.

Mink Onyx Walls and a Built-In Seat
A steel tub and a tile surround set over wire mesh came out of this second-floor bath. We built a 60-inch shower with a white custom pan, Mink Onyx Pro Stone walls up to the soffit, a built-in bench seat, and a diamond corner shelf, closed in with a 3/8-inch clear glass door. A new floor went down, and the vanity stayed.

What Novi Bathrooms Usually Need
Novi is one of the newer cities in Oakland County. Most of its homes were built after 1980, in a mix of single-family houses, townhomes, condos, and apartments. That shapes the bathrooms we see here.
Census estimates put the median year built for a Novi home at 1993, compared with 1975 across Oakland County. About 74% of homes were built in 1980 or later, and about 37% since 2000. Roughly half are detached single-family houses, about 12% are attached townhomes or condos, and about a quarter are in buildings with five or more units. About 66% are owner-occupied, compared with about 73% countywide.
