Jetted Tub and Tiled Shower Out, a Carrera Tub and Graphite Cabinet Wall In

This Oxford Township bathroom had a jetted soaking tub under the window, a separate tiled shower with a soffit above it, and a closet. Dan, Nick, and Brian took them all out and built a new wall. Now a white tub with Carrera Pro Stone walls up to the ceiling, a wall of Graphite cabinets with frosted glass doors, and a gray wood-look floor fill the room.

The Job

One Tub and a Wall of Storage

This bathroom in Oxford Township had a jetted soaking tub with a tiled deck under the window, a separate tiled walk-in shower with a soffit above it, and a closet. The walls were blue, and the floor was beige tile.

Out came the jetted tub, the tiled shower, the closet, and the soffit. We built a new wall and reworked the room around one tub and a lot more storage.

The new tub is white, with smooth Carrera Pro Stone walls that run up to the ceiling and a corner caddy. It sits in its own alcove.

A long wall of Graphite cabinets went in. It has drawers below a long Carrera Pro Stone top, and a tall cabinet with frosted glass doors sits on top. A new 48-inch Graphite vanity has a Carrera top with a white bowl.

A gray wood-look plank floor now runs through the room. We added three recessed lights and a protected outlet at the vanity, and set up the switches so each light works on its own. We also ran wiring for two wall sconces beside the tall cabinet. The homeowner hung the sconces afterward.

The homeowner supplied the tub faucet, the vanity faucet, and the exhaust fan, and we installed them. The existing toilet went back in place. Their painter painted the walls after we finished.

How long did this bathroom remodel take?
Fourteen working days. Dan led the job, with Nick and Brian helping on some days. They took out the tub, shower, and closet, built a new wall, and put in the tub, cabinets, tops, and floor.
Can you replace a jetted tub and a separate shower with one tub?
Yes. Here the jetted soaking tub and the tiled shower both came out. One white tub with Carrera Pro Stone walls up to the ceiling took their place, which freed up room for a long wall of cabinets.
Can a bathroom closet become cabinet storage?
Yes. The old closet and the soffit came out, and a wall of Graphite cabinets went in. It has drawers below a Carrera Pro Stone top and a tall cabinet with frosted glass doors on top.
Can I supply my own faucets or fan?
Yes. This homeowner supplied the tub faucet, the vanity faucet, and the exhaust fan, and we installed them. We also put the existing toilet back in place after the new floor went down.
