Bathroom Remodeling Rochester Hills, MI
Rochester Hills bathroom remodeling, tub-to-shower conversions, and tub replacements by our own installers
More than half of Rochester Hills homes went up between 1960 and 1989, and many still have the original steel tub with tile walls, a fiberglass shower stall, or a half bath with no shower at all. We turn those tubs into walk-in showers, replace tubs and walls, and remodel full bathrooms. Our own crew handles it, start to finish.

A Full Remodel Built Around a Walk-In Shower
The old steel tub came out, and a walk-in shower went in with smooth Mirage Beige Pro Stone walls, two corner shelves, a recessed shampoo box, and a 3/8-inch heavy glass sliding door. Merillat maple cabinets in Basalt were built to the room’s angled layout under a custom-shaped Mirage Beige Pro Stone top, and Armstrong Biome waterproof vinyl plank went down on the floor.

An Upstairs Tub Becomes a Shower With a Bench
Upstairs, the steel tub, the wall tile, the floor, and two vanities came out. The new 60-inch shower sits on a custom Natural Slate Pro Stone pan with a 6-inch curb, with Slate Pro Stone walls 94 inches tall, a matching ceiling panel, a built-in bench, two recessed shampoo boxes, and a clear glass sliding door. Two Spring Valley maple vanities in Nightfall each got their own Slate Pro Stone top with an undermount bowl.

A Condo Bath Gets a Walk-In Shower and Room for Laundry
This condo has one bathroom. The steel tub, the fiberglass shower base, and all of the tile came out. A 60-inch walk-in shower went in on a white Pro Stone pan with a Carrera curb, Carrera walls, a corner caddy, a fold-down seat, and three grab bars, and we reworked the plumbing and wiring to make room for a washer and dryer. A Spring Valley maple vanity in Nightfall sits under a 61-inch Carrera top with one large bowl in place of two.

A First-Floor Half Bath Becomes a Full Bath
We took out the wall between this half bath and the closet beside it, cut the concrete slab for a new shower drain, and built a shower in the added space: a white Pro Stone pan, Carrera Pro Stone walls 96 inches tall with a matching ceiling panel, and a corner caddy. The old closet door became the bathroom door, and a built-in bookshelf now opens to the living room. A pedestal sink, a Kohler toilet, and a new floor finished the room.

What Rochester Hills Bathrooms Usually Need
Rochester Hills grew mostly from the 1960s through the 1990s, with detached houses, condos, and some apartments. Many bathrooms still have their original tub, tile, and vanity.
Census estimates put the median year built for a Rochester Hills home at 1984, newer than the Oakland County figure of 1975. More than half of homes went up between 1960 and 1989, about a quarter in the 1980s alone, and about another 1 in 6 in the 1990s. About 66% are detached single-family houses, about 77% are owner-occupied, and close to 4 in 10 have four or more bedrooms.
In homes this age we often find steel tubs with tile walls, fiberglass shower stalls and surrounds, half baths with no shower, and condo bathrooms that have to do double duty. In their place go walk-in showers, new tubs, and grout-free Pro Stone cultured marble walls. For planning numbers, see typical bathroom remodeling costs.
- Steel tubs with tile walls: turned into walk-in showers, as near Livernois and Hamlin, or replaced with a new tub

How long does a bathroom remodel take in Rochester Hills?
Tub-to-shower conversions and tub replacements with Pro Stone walls take 2-4 working days. Full remodels take 5-10 working days, depending on scope, like the bath near Rochester Road and Avon, where we replaced the tub with a walk-in shower and put in a new vanity, top, and flooring. -
Can you turn a half bath into a full bath?
Yes. Near Avon and Crooks, we took out the wall between a first-floor half bath and the closet next to it, cut the concrete slab for a shower drain, and built a shower with a white Pro Stone pan and Carrera Pro Stone walls and ceiling panel. -
Can you replace the tub instead of converting it to a shower?
Yes. In the same home near Avon and Crooks, the upstairs steel tub came out and a 60-inch insulated steel tub went in, with Frost Pro Stone walls from the tub to the soffit, a matching ceiling panel, three corner shelves, and a corner caddy. -
Can you add a seat in the shower?
Yes. Near Livernois and Hamlin, the new 60-inch shower has a built-in Pro Stone bench, and the condo shower near Hamlin and Crooks has a fold-down seat and three grab bars. -

Yes. Near Hamlin and Crooks, we remodeled the only bathroom in a condo: a walk-in shower in place of the tub and shower base, a new vanity and top, and new plumbing and wiring for a washer and dryer. -
