Bathroom Remodeling Fraser, MI
Fraser bathroom remodeling, tub-to-shower conversions, and tub replacements by our own installers
More than half of Fraser homes went up between 1960 and 1989, and many still have the original steel tub with tile set over wire mesh, a fiberglass tub surround, or a tiled shower stall. We turn those tubs into walk-in showers, replace tubs and walls, and remodel full bathrooms. Our own crew handles it, start to finish.

A Full Remodel With a New Tub and Wainscoting
All of the tile came out, in the tub area, on the wainscoting, and on the floor, along with the vanity and its top. A 60-inch white acrylic tub went in with Silver Dollar Pro Stone walls, a window kit, a corner caddy, three brushed nickel grab bars, and Silver Dollar Pro Stone wainscoting around the room. A Rowan maple vanity in Basalt with a New Caledonia granite top and a matching wall cabinet finished it, on a Forest Fog 12 by 24-inch floor.

A Tub Becomes a Shower With a Seat and Wainscoting
The steel tub with its fiberglass surround, the vinyl floor, the vanity, a wall cabinet, and the medicine cabinet came out, and we moved the shower drain to fit the new base. The 60-inch shower sits on a white Pro Stone pan, with Italian White Pro Stone walls 96 inches tall, a corner seat, two corner shelves, two chrome grab bars, and a sliding glass door. Italian White Pro Stone wainscoting runs around the room, and a 60-inch Merillat vanity in Steel Gray sits under a matching Italian White top.

Two Upstairs Bathrooms, Including a Soaking Tub
In the larger bath, we removed all of the tile, a glass block wall behind the shower, a drop-in tub, and the vanities. A 47 7/8 by 42 1/2-inch shower went in on a custom Italian White Pro Stone pan with a hexagon pattern, with Italian White walls, a ceiling panel, and three corner shelves, next to a Kohler 72 by 42-inch drop-in soaking tub with an Italian White Pro Stone deck. Three Fox Harbor maple cabinets sit under a 110-inch top with two undermount bowls. In the second bath, a steel tub became a new 60-inch acrylic tub.

We replaced the tiled shower base with a 36 1/2-inch square white Pro Stone pan with a hexagon pattern and put up Carrera Pro Stone walls 94 inches tall, to the soffit, with a corner caddy, a corner seat, and a clear glass Arizona door in brushed nickel. The tile floor stayed.

What Fraser Bathrooms Usually Need
Fraser is a small city built out mostly from the 1950s through the 1980s. About two-thirds of its homes are detached houses, and many bathrooms still have their original tub, tile, and vanity.
Census estimates put the median year built for a Fraser home at 1972, close to the Macomb County figure of 1975. More than half of homes went up between 1960 and 1989, with the 1970s the biggest decade, and about 1 in 5 in the 1950s. About 65% are detached single-family houses and about 73% are owner-occupied.
In homes this age we often find steel tubs with tile set over wire mesh, fiberglass tub surrounds, tiled shower stalls, and tile wainscoting around the room. In their place go walk-in showers, new tubs, and grout-free Pro Stone cultured marble walls. For planning numbers, see typical bathroom remodeling costs.

Fraser Bathroom Remodeling Questions
Straight answers, drawn from bathrooms we have remodeled in Fraser.

How long does a bathroom remodel take in Fraser?
Tub-to-shower conversions and tub replacements with Pro Stone walls take 2-4 working days. Full remodels take 5-10 working days, depending on scope, like the bathroom near Masonic and Kelly, where we replaced the tub, the walls, the wainscoting, the vanity, and the floor. -
Can you replace only the shower and leave the rest?
Yes. Near 13 Mile and Utica Road, we removed a tiled shower base, its tile walls, and the bypass doors, and left the floor, the toilet, and the pedestal sink. The new shower has a custom Pure Platinum Pro Stone pan, Slate Pro Stone walls 92 inches tall, corner shelves, two chrome grab bars, a handheld shower bar, and a sliding door with obscure glass. -
Can you keep my tile wainscoting?
Yes. Near 14 Mile and Groesbeck, the steel tub and the wire-mesh tile on the tub walls and ceiling came out, but the tile wainscoting, the floor, and the vanity stayed. A 60 by 32-inch almond shower base went in with acrylic walls, a ceiling panel, and a clear glass sliding door. -
Can you add a seat and grab bars?
Yes. Near Garfield and 14 Mile, the new shower has a Pro Stone corner seat and two chrome grab bars, and near 14 Mile and Groesbeck, we reinforced the wall framing for a bench seat and two grab bars. -
Can you remodel two bathrooms in the same home?
Yes. Near Utica Road and 15 Mile, we remodeled both upstairs bathrooms in one home: a new shower and a drop-in soaking tub in the larger bath, and a new acrylic tub in the second. -
Which parts of Fraser do you serve?
All of Fraser, in the 48026 ZIP code. We also work in nearby Clinton Township, Sterling Heights, Warren, St. Clair Shores, and Roseville. -
Are estimates free, and do you offer financing?
Yes. The in-home consultation and written estimate cost nothing, and financing options are available. For planning numbers before we visit, see our Metro Detroit bathroom remodeling cost guide.
