The Job

A Tub and Curtain Out, a Walk-In Shower In

This bathroom in Pinckney had a fiberglass tub and surround behind a shower curtain. An oak vanity sat by the door.

We took out the tub surround, the curtain rod, the vanity, and the old exhaust fan. The window stayed.

The tub space became a walk-in shower on a white Pro Stone base. Sterling Silver Pro Stone walls run up to the ceiling. A Pro Stone kit trims the window to match, and a soap wall and corner shelves hold bottles.

A Delta Linden shower and a clear sliding door, both in brushed nickel, finish the stall. A brushed nickel grab bar sits inside.

Across the room, a Nightfall maple vanity carries a Sterling Silver Pro Stone top with a white sink. Muslin Gray tile went down through the room. A quiet Panasonic fan with a light replaced the old fan.

Adam led the install, with help from Dave and Nick, over 8 working days. Larry was the product specialist. This is one Home Pro USA project in Pinckney, in Livingston County. Nearby work includes our other Pinckney story.

Questions About This Remodel

How long did this tub-to-shower remodel take?
8 working days. A tub-to-shower conversion by itself usually takes 2-4 working days. This job also had a new vanity, a new tile floor, window trim, and a new fan. Your written quote lists the full scope before work starts.
Can you keep the window in the shower?
Yes. The window stayed in place. We wrapped it in a matching Pro Stone window kit, so the trim sheds water like the walls do.
What is Pro Stone?
Pro Stone is our cultured marble for shower bases, walls, shelves, and vanity tops. It goes up in large panels with no grout lines. This shower uses Sterling Silver, a soft gray marble look, on a white base. The vanity top matches.
What kind of shower door is this?
A clear sliding glass door in brushed nickel. It matches the Delta shower fixture and the grab bar inside.
Can I supply some items myself?
Yes. Here the homeowner supplied the mirror, a shaving stand, and a round grab bar. Adam’s crew installed them along with our own products.
Do you work in Pinckney?
Yes. This is our second Pinckney project story. See our other Pinckney remodel and our Livingston County page. Home Pro USA crews remodel bathrooms across Metro Detroit and Livingston County from our Center Line showroom.
