A Tiled Shower Stall Out, a Carrera Pro Stone Shower In

This Huron Township bath, near Flat Rock, had a tiled shower stall with tile on the ceiling. Mike replaced it with Carrera Pro Stone from the white base up to a matching ceiling panel, behind a clear glass pivot door. A new Carrera vanity top finished the job.

The Job

A Tiled Stall Made New

This main-floor bath in Huron Township, near Flat Rock, had a tiled shower stall. White tile covered the walls, the floor of the stall, and even the ceiling, behind a framed glass door.

The plan was to replace the shower and the vanity top and keep the rest. The tub, the toilet, the tile floor, and the vanity cabinets all stayed.

The old door came out first. Then the tile walls, the tiled stall floor, and the tile ceiling came out.

A white Pro Stone shower base, made to fit the stall, went in with a Carrera curb on top. Carrera Pro Stone panels line all three walls in a gloss finish.

A matching Carrera panel closes in the ceiling, where the tile used to be. Carrera trim finishes the open edges, and a Carrera corner caddy is built into the wall.

A Delta 2-in-1 shower in brushed nickel pairs a shower head with a hand shower. An Arizona pivot door in clear glass, with brushed nickel hardware, was made to fit the opening.

At the vanity, the old laminate top came off. A new Carrera Pro Stone top, about six feet long, went onto the same cabinets, with a large rectangular undermount bowl.

Mike did the installation in 5 working days. Larry was the product specialist. This is one Home Pro USA project in Huron Township. See more on our Wayne County page.

Project FAQs

Questions About This Remodel

How long did this shower remodel take?
Five working days. Mike took out the old door, the tile walls, the tiled stall floor, and the tile ceiling. Then he set the new base, the Carrera walls and ceiling panel, the glass door, and the vanity top.
Can you replace just the shower stall and keep the rest?
Yes. In this bath the tub, the toilet, the tile floor, and the vanity cabinets all stayed. Only the shower stall and the vanity top were replaced, so the rest of the room was left as it was.
Why put Pro Stone on the shower ceiling?
This stall had tile on the ceiling, so a matching Carrera panel replaced it. Now the walls and ceiling match, with no grout lines overhead to scrub. Carrera trim finishes the edges where the panels meet the wall.
What is Carrera Pro Stone?
Pro Stone is our cultured marble. Carrera is a white with soft gray veining, here in a gloss finish. The shower walls, ceiling panel, curb, corner caddy, and the new vanity top are all Carrera, so they match.
What kind of shower door went in?
An Arizona pivot door in clear glass with brushed nickel hardware. It was made to fit this opening after we measured. The Delta shower head and hand shower are also brushed nickel, so the finishes match.
Do you work in Huron Township and Flat Rock?
Yes. Many Huron Township homes have Flat Rock addresses, and we work in both. See our Wayne County page and our Taylor primary bath story. Every estimate is clear and written.
