Full Bathroom Remodel in Hazel Park

Blue tile, a steel tub, and a mosaic floor came out of this first-floor bathroom in Hazel Park, down to the studs. A new tub with light blue Pro Stone walls went in, along with a new window, vanity, and floor. The home is near 9 Mile and John R.

The Job

Blue Tile Out, Light Blue Pro Stone In

This first-floor bathroom in Hazel Park still had its original blue tile, around the steel tub and on the other walls, over a small mosaic tile floor. It all came out, down to the plaster on the walls. Only the ceiling stayed.

With the walls open, we reinforced the framing for grab bars and added insulation. New drywall went up on every wall and over the old ceiling. A new window went into the tub wall, trimmed with a white Pro Stone window kit, so the opening needs no paint and handles water.

The new 60-inch white tub has light blue Pro Stone walls in a subway pattern, a matching skirt, and two corner shelves. A Delta 2-in-1 shower gives a shower head and a handheld, and two chrome grab bars sit on the new framing. A straight curtain rod finishes the tub.

Across the room, a maple vanity in Cotton carries a white Pro Stone top with Vermont Blue veining. A recessed medicine cabinet and a new light bar sit above it. A Kohler toilet and blue Armstrong Alterna flooring finish the room.
