Tub-to-Shower Conversion in Royal Oak

A main bathroom tub-to-shower conversion. The alcove tub came out and a walk-in porcelain shower went in on the same footprint: recessed caddy, frameless glass, matte black fixtures. The vanity, toilet, and floor stayed. The job took 6 working days.

The Job

The Tub Came Out. The Shower Stayed in Place.

This Royal Oak main bathroom had a standard alcove tub and a curtain. The homeowners wanted a walk-in shower, not a full remodel. We removed the tub and built the new shower in the same footprint.

The walls are Regis 30 × 60 porcelain with a marble-look vein. A recessed niche holds bottles. A low-profile Pro Stone pure white pan, an Arizona 3/8-inch frameless heavy-glass door with matte black hardware, and the homeowner’s matte black rainfall head finish the alcove. The existing vanity, toilet, and floor stayed in place.

Adam and Dave were on site 6 working days in October 2025. Jeff was the product specialist. This is one Home Pro USA conversion in Royal Oak, in Oakland County. See more local work on our Royal Oak bathroom remodeling page.

“In my 25 years of home ownership, Home Pro was by far the best company to work with. Very communicative, high craftsmanship, great materials, great people, thoughtful. If you are so lucky to have Adam and Dave work on your project, you are blessed.”

Project FAQs

Questions About This Kind of Conversion

How long did this Royal Oak tub-to-shower take?
6 working days on site in October 2025. A written quote will confirm the schedule for your home. Most conversions take 2–4 working days when the shower stays in the same footprint.
Did you remodel the whole bathroom?
No. This job is a tub-to-shower conversion. The alcove changed. The vanity, toilet, and floor stayed. If you want a full remodel, we can price that separately.
Is this cultured marble or porcelain tile?
This job is Regis 30 × 60 porcelain on the shower walls, over a Pro Stone pure white shower pan. If you want a similar look with a faster wall-system install, see cultured marble bathroom remodeling. We will show both in the consult.
Do you convert tubs to showers in Royal Oak and nearby Oakland County cities?
Yes. This job is in Royal Oak. We also work across Oakland County, including Troy, Birmingham, Ferndale, Berkley, and Clawson.
What will a conversion like this cost?
Price depends on the porcelain, the recessed caddy, the frameless glass, and the fixtures. Use the Metro Detroit cost guide for planning ranges, then get a written in-home quote.
