Full Bathroom Remodel With a Neo-Angle Shower in Sterling Heights
A full bathroom remodel in Sterling Heights. We took out a walled-in tile shower and built an open neo-angle Pro Stone shower with frameless glass. A new maple vanity, a marble-look floor, and fresh paint finish the room. Near Hall Road and Ryan.
The Job
Walled-In Tile Shower Out, Open Neo-Angle Glass Shower In
This first-floor bath had a tiled neo-angle shower boxed in by walls up to a soffit, behind a framed, frosted-glass door. We tore out the shower down to the studs, along with most of the walls around it and the soffit. The old vanity, toilet, and floor came out too.
The new shower has a custom Pro Stone pan and Italian White Pro Stone walls. A new pony wall beside the vanity closes the open side. It holds the shower controls, so you can turn the water on without reaching under the shower head. We reinforced the framing first, so the two grab bars are solid. An extra-large recessed caddy and robe hooks finish the inside. Clear heavy glass with chrome hardware closes it in.
Outside the shower, a new maple vanity in Pecan runs along the wall, with a door cabinet between two drawer banks. Its Pro Stone top matches the shower and has a built-in bowl. We put down a new subfloor and a marble-look Armstrong Alterna floor.
We rebuilt the soffit area and put a recessed LED light over the shower. The old heated floor came out. We set the toilet and wired the LED mirror, both supplied by the homeowners, then painted the walls and ceiling with the paint they chose. Cameron and Nicholas did the installation, and Jeff was the product specialist. This is one Home Pro USA project in Sterling Heights, near Hall Road and Ryan.
