Master Bathroom Remodel in Chesterfield

A dated master bathroom with an awkward layout. The drop-in tub used most of the floor. We opened that space for a larger custom vanity along the angled walls, enlarged the neo-angle shower, and finished the room with frameless heavy glass.

The Job

The Drop-In Tub Was Using the Best Space

This Chesterfield master bathroom had an awkward layout. A drop-in jetted tub sat in the middle of the plan and used floor space the homeowners needed for storage and a usable vanity. The existing neo-angle shower was tight, and the old framed 1/4-inch glass door made the room feel dated.

We gutted the bathroom so we could redo the plumbing and add a 32-inch pocket door. Removing the tub made room for a larger custom vanity that follows the angled walls, with a Pro Stone top and two sinks. We enlarged the neo-angle shower and finished it in City Gray Pro Stone with a seat and a frameless glass door. A new Kohler Highline Arc toilet completed the room.

Adam and Dave installed it in 15 working days, finishing in October 2023. Kevin was the product specialist. Photos of the completed bathroom were taken on August 27, 2024. This is one Home Pro USA project in the Chesterfield / New Baltimore area of Macomb County. See more local work on our Chesterfield bathroom remodeling page.

Before

The Dated Master Bathroom

The drop-in tub used the best floor space. The neo-angle shower was tight, and the framed 1/4-inch glass made the room feel older than it needed to.

During Construction

Gut, Plumbing, Then the Angled Vanity

This job needed a full tear-out so the plumbing and the pocket doorway could be reset before the new shower and vanity went in.

Project FAQs

Questions About This Kind of Remodel

How long did this Chesterfield master bathroom take?
15 working days in September and October 2023, from demolition through finished fixtures. A written quote will confirm the schedule for your home.
Why remove a drop-in tub instead of keeping it?
In this room the tub used the best floor space and made the vanity too small. Removing it let us build a larger custom Kith vanity along the angled walls and enlarge the neo-angle shower. We will only recommend that when the layout actually gains space.
Do you remodel bathrooms in Chesterfield and nearby Macomb County cities?
Yes. This job is in the Chesterfield / New Baltimore area. We also work across Macomb County, including Warren, Sterling Heights, Clinton Township, and Shelby Township.
Can you build a custom vanity on angled walls?
Yes. This master bath is a good example. We measure the existing angles, plan the cabinet run around the walls, and write the vanity into the scope before work starts. Start with a free consultation.
What will a remodel like this cost?
Price depends on the gut work, plumbing, the custom vanity, the enlarged shower, and the glass upgrade. Use the Metro Detroit cost guide for planning ranges, then get a written in-home quote.
