The Job

Jetted Tub and Glass Block Out, Two New Showers In

This first-floor Highland Township home, over a basement, had two bathrooms ready for a change. The primary bath had a jetted tub in a tiled deck and a shower closed in by glass block. Both came out, along with the old vanity, mirror, and floor. The crown molding stayed.

We moved the shower into the old tub space. It has Carrera Pro Stone walls and a built-in bench. Two niches and two grab bars on reinforced framing finish the inside. A clear sliding door in matte black matches the shower fixtures.

Where the glass block shower stood, the homeowners’ two gray vanity cabinets now fill the window wall, with a lower makeup counter between them. Quartz tops cover all three, with a sink in each vanity. We added an outlet at the makeup counter and a recessed light, then laid new plank flooring. We reset the toilet and hung the homeowners’ gray wall cabinet above it.

The guest bath had a steel tub with tile walls and an old wood vanity. The tub, the tile, and the vanity came out, and the walls stayed. In the tub space we built a Tender Grey Pro Stone shower with a seamless back wall and a bench at the window end. A niche, two grab bars, and a matte black sliding door finish it. The homeowners’ vanity got a quartz top that extends over the toilet, and the same plank flooring went down. We also replaced the door casing, reset the toilet, and hung the matching wall cabinet above it.

In both rooms we patched the drywall where the old tile and fixtures came off, and the homeowners handled the painting after we finished. The first primary bath photos show the room after the homeowners painted. The rest show patched walls, before paint. The homeowners supplied the cabinets in both rooms, and we installed them. They also supplied the mirrors and hardware. Adam and Dave finished the guest bath in 7 working days, then the primary bath in 10, for 17 in all. Jeff was the product specialist. Project FAQs

Questions About These Remodels

Can you remodel two bathrooms in one project?
Yes. Here Adam and Dave finished the guest bath first and then moved straight into the primary bath, so the home always had one working bathroom. One product specialist, one written quote, and one crew handled both rooms.
How long did these two Highland Township remodels take?
17 working days for both rooms: 7 for the guest bath and 10 for the primary bath. Most of our full remodels take 5-10 working days per bathroom, depending on how much of the room changes, the plumbing and electrical work, and the materials. Your written quote lists the full scope before work starts.
What happened to the jetted tub and the glass block shower?
Both came out. The new walk-in shower sits in the old tub space, and the corner where the glass block shower stood now holds a longer vanity run with two sinks and a makeup counter.
What is Pro Stone?
Pro Stone is our cultured marble for shower bases, walls, benches, and thresholds. It goes up in large panels with no grout lines. The primary shower is in Carrera, a white marble look, and the guest shower is in Tender Grey.
Did you paint the bathrooms?
No. We patched the drywall where the old tile and fixtures came off, and the homeowners chose to handle the painting themselves. The primary bath photos start with the painted room and then show it before painting; the guest bath photos show the patched walls.
Do you work in Highland Township and Oakland County?
Yes. This job is in Highland Township, in Oakland County, and we have also remodeled bathrooms in nearby Wixom. Home Pro USA crews remodel bathrooms across Metro Detroit from our Center Line showroom.
